Allow & block lists

Allow and block lists give you the final say over specific senders or sender domains, on top of the automatic filtering. They're scoped to each of your domains.

Allow list (never block)

Mail from an allow-listed sender or domain is never quarantined or rejected — it always reaches the inbox. Use it for trusted senders that were caught by mistake.

Block list (always reject)

Mail from a block-listed sender or domain is always rejected. Use it for persistent unwanted senders.

Add an entry

  1. Open Lists in the dashboard and choose a domain.
  2. Pick Allow or Block, then Sender (a single address) or Domain (the whole sending domain), and enter the value.
  3. Add it.

You can also create allow/block entries straight from the Quarantine view: open a held message and choose Release & always allow or Always block sender.

Match types

  • Sender — a specific address, e.g. news@partner.com. Wildcards are supported, e.g. *@partner.com.
  • Domain — every sender at a domain, e.g. partner.com.

Values are stored lower-case, so capitalisation doesn't matter.

Duplicates

Each value can appear once per domain and match type. If it's already there you get a clear message — either "That entry is already on the list", or, when the same value sits on the opposite list, "That entry is already on the allow/block list", so a contradictory allow and block rule can't be created by accident. Remove the existing entry first if you want to move it to the other list.

Remove an entry

In Lists, click the trash icon next to any entry to delete it.

Allow/block rules take precedence over the spam score, so use the block list sparingly to avoid rejecting wanted mail.
